I have helped a number of my friends and family fix simple issues on their computers for years now. Every time I do, I wonder who set it up in the first place! I know one family who has spent over $200 in repairs to take off a simple virus! It is ridiculous. So leave comments, and questions, and I will make posts to help answer in down to earth terms some computer questions. I will also give some simple tutorials about everyday computer things.

I’m losing my mind here. I want to use the UPS software to ship my packages, but when I go to their site, it requires me to put in my Ship From info, and it won’t allow me to put in United States as my country. I go down the list and click the country, and it then blanks the field and asks for the country again. I’ve tried it on other countries, with the same result. I’ve run into this same problem on any site that asks me to enter the country. Is there a cookie or security setting I’m missing? I’m using AVG Free 8.0 for my anti-virus software, but I don’t think that’s where the problem lies. I can save passwords, log-in info and everything else, but this one field stops me dead every time. Any ideas?
I’m not totally familiar with UPS software, so I will do my best to help you out. First, I’m assuming you have windows. Are you using internet explorer? Have you tried using a different internet browser such as firefox? I tend to lean toward firefox (which is free) because it doesn’t have as many of those kind of errors.
